How to Leverage Your Website as a Board Game Publisher

As board game publishers, it is important to leverage your website in order to maximize sales and reach new customers. A well-designed website can be a powerful tool for promoting your products and communicating with potential customers. Here are some tips on how you can use your website to its fullest potential, with some examples of companies I believe are doing it right:

1: Create an Engaging Homepage

The homepage of your site should not only showcase the games you offer but also give visitors a taste of what’s inside. Use visuals such as images, videos, or animations to draw people in and make them want to explore further.

Make sure all the necessary information about each game is easy to find and that there are clear calls-to-action guiding users through the purchase process.

A great example of this is the Vanquishers TCG homepage. There’s plenty of movement, colors, and theme to immediately hook the user and peak their curiosity.

2: Utilize Product Pages

Product pages are essential for providing detailed information about each game so that customers can make informed decisions before buying. Include photos, descriptions, pricing info, customer reviews, etc., so that visitors have everything they need right at their fingertips when making purchasing decisions.

An excellent example of this is the full catalog page on the site for LederGames. Their products are easy to navigate, and the individual product pages are visually stimulating and descriptive.

3: Offer discounts & promotions

Offering discounts or running promotional campaigns on your website is a great way to boost sales and encourage repeat purchases from existing customers alike.

You could try offering free shipping on orders over a certain amount or discounts on specific items or collections – anything that will help drive more sales from first time buyers, as well as loyal fans who might be tempted by limited edition releases or special offers available exclusively online.

Rose Gauntlet does this very well by offering a holiday bundle and free shipping on games and accessories with at least $99 spent.

4: Keep content fresh & up-to date

By regularly updating content such as news articles, blog posts, press releases, etc., you’ll ensure visitors keep coming back for more! This helps build trust with prospects while keeping current players engaged by giving them something new often.

It also gives those who haven’t yet purchased any of your games plenty of reasons why they should do so!

Jamey and his team at Stonemaier Games have been doing this consistently for years!

5: Incorporate social media

Social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram provide great opportunities for engaging with target audiences in real-time conversations, which allow board game publishers gain valuable insights into their markets while building relationships with potential consumers.

Integrate these networks directly into your site (e.g. via widgets) allowing followers to easily access latest updates without having to leave pages they’re already viewing.

6: Optimize for search engines

Search engine optimization (SEO) is key when it comes optimizing website visibility. If done correctly, this technique allows businesses to rank higher search results pages, thus increasing chances of being discovered by interested parties looking for specific topics.

Investing time researching keywords used most often among your target market, plus ensuring titles/tags properly reflect content found within each page, goes a long way to helping increase organic traffic whilst boosting overall brand awareness as well!

For example, I searched “board game publisher” on Google, and one of the top pages is an article about how to publish a board game by Facade Games. This is exactly how it should be done!

Is this a vibe? Share it with your tribe!
